Copenhagen, Brokenhagen
I am appalled and disillusioned. COP15 was apparently a disaster to those involved, and particularly to those watching. I really can’t find any pride in living in this city anymore.
I’m not dumb enough to presume I know all that went on in Bella Center, or to assume that anyone else has the whole picture. For instance, I am not as pessimistic as this guy. However, it is clear that things did not go as planned, even though the planning had been going on for years. How our current liberalist government could presume to be able to handle this mindboggling all-or-nothing “Save Humanity”-conference properly is beyond me. Then again, they presume to be able to handle a lot of things that I disagree with.
Whatever the outcome, I suppose I’ll find consolence in the fact that climate change is now a term more well-know across the globe, and that somehow, COP15 will lead to something better for our planet.
But adding up the past “features” from my country really doesn’t look good on paper: The Muhammad Cartoons, normalising Christiania, clearing Ungdomshuset, beating demonstrators and totally blowing a climate deal for the future of our children. I guess Lego is our last bastion of success.
I sure do hope for a change soon.
