Discontinuing geddeth.dk

I’ve decided to remove geddeth.dk from my portfolio of next-to-no-traffic websites. 82% of the traffic coming to geddeth.dk is direct traffic to the nightly Pidgin builds anyway, and I am pretty happy now with the direction this Wordpress-based site is headed, so it makes sense to direct those visitors here now.

Nothing has changed regarding the Pidgin builds at all, except the new domain and design. They are still built nightly, cross-compiled on a Debian squeeze-box as described in the Pidgin project’s wiki.

For those so inclined, the gcc version is currently 4.2.1-sjlj (mingw32-2), perl is version 5.10, mingw32-binutils is version 2.16.91-20060119 (windres and strip).

Let me know how it’s working out for those of you using my builds.

Hi, I update your nightly build everyday. Could you provide, in this new dress, a direct link to latest build (eg. latest.7z) in order to automate the update? How about a custom update notify plugin?

Hey Vincenzo, I have actually considered this, but not made up my mind yet. I’m really not interested in people harvesting my builds directly, without actually visiting the site – mainly because I would be unable to inform those people of any changes in the builds etc.

But I will think about it some more, mkay?

unfortunately, 4 since 16 november, no pidgin build worked ( they all crash at startup )
