MUAHAHAHAHAAAA!

An evil mastermind at work.Ever had that itch – that innate feeling that you were meant for something more … nefarious? Does evil scheming, plotting wicked plans for world domination and collecting data for the ultimate doomsday device sound like your cup o’ tea? Don’t know where to start? Well – now you too can become an Evil Genius!

Evil Genius leads us Dungeon Keeper nostalgists back to the good old days of Bullfrog’s wonderful, humorous (and slightly sadistic) production from 1997. The game has many similarities, but is expanded on in so many other ways, I can’t even begin to mention them all. A few keywords though: secret base, plotting, stealing money, missions, henchmen, research, traps, special agents, control room, heat and a helluva lot of humour. The Control Room(tm)Think James Bond (the Sean Connery version) meets Day of The Tentacle, lightly sprinkled with the few elements from Austin Powers that were hilariously funny. It doesn’t get much much better than that.

In all honesty, though, the game’s main force (and what a force it is, indeed!) lies in the humorous actions that your minions perform whilst on duty in your base. Watching them interrogate various captives using say, the human-sized mixerbowl in your Mess Hall is nothing short of sensational. I can’t count the times I’ve just zoomed in on some random guy in my base just to see what he does next.

In short, this is a game you cannot do without, especially if you are training for that special Mastermind Certificate(tm).
