UNbelievable!
Just tripped over Grek K Nicholson’s weblog, where he writes on August 2nd about the website of the United Nations, which, quite simply, is terrible.
It made me realize how true it is that most internet users of today are able to discern good from bad webdesign in an inherent manner. Not necessarily on a conscious level, mind you – as in “Gee, that interface is really unintuitive and has a cluttered layout”, but perhaps more of a subtle recognition of the fact that some websites just really suck. Statistics and research show that we spend an average of a few seconds on deciding whether to stay at a new website or find whatever we want somewhere else, so website developers have to be spot on if they don’t want to lose customers.
That’s why it really bothers me (as well) that an organization like the UN has a Website that Really Sucks.
