The horror of df -a | grep 100%

Yes, it is the bane of any server’s activity log: disk usage at 100%

I come home, fire up Thunderbird, and get an error because the lock file for the POP3 mail retrieval can’t be created. Reason? No more disk space on the server. Now why was it that I created one enormous partition for the Debian Sarge installation, instead of seperate ones for mail and whatnot? *sigh*

But yay – for moments before, I had unwrapped my newly acquired Hitachi DeskStar 7K250 160GB harddrive, which was purchased to avoid that very situation. Better late than sorry, I always say.

Expect downtime sometime next week while I install this mofo.
