Back online – gallery added

The site is back to “fully operational” now. I’m fiddling with implementing PHPhiler for the writings/downloads/links sections, all of which will soon be “opening”.

I’ve also added a news item about CeBIT, which I wrote months ago. I wanted to publish it back in March, but was missing a proper PHP gallery to upload the photos to. So I took on installing Gallery, a splendid app, apparently. Only I was running Debian Woody, and the C libraries were outdated in the mind of Gallery (or ImageMagick‘s, really, which is used by Gallery, but nevermind). So I thought, “What the heck, I’ll let Debian upgrade to Testing overnight, it’ll save me a lot of hassle in the future.”

Yeah. Well, it didn’t, and it didn’t.

So anyway, long story short, now I have a clean Debian Sarge installation which works splendidly, along with a gallery. You should read the other news item first though
