DOH!

Ok – it Had To Happen(tm). I messed too much with my Debian-box’s apt-get configuration and broke almost every package on my system, including perl and gcc. The system is currently limping along, running Apache and Samba, but as soon as I unload them, I can’t load them back up, because the shared libraries are broken as well.

After lots of searching and mending, I’ve decided to reinstall and do a kernel-upgrade immediately thereafter. This means that sometime soon, the system will go off-line until I’m done (which may or may not take some days).
