Put the site back up, after rewriting the backend and lots of nitpicking and fighting with XHTML/CSS2. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s basically impossible to make the site look good, remain easy to maintain, and be secure at the same time. Not to mention if you care for cross-browser compatibility, which triples the difficulty. Incidentally, this site looks best in anything else than IE6. Figures.
So for now, this blog-like, hand-coded news thingy is all that’s online. Lots of features don’t work, links are broken, things are a mess. But the backend is ready, the webserver is (fairly) secure and the design is also finished, so things will begin to work soon. And hey – at least I have somewhere to rant now!
